Consulting and administration

Overall responsibility for your care resides with your GP and, where appropriate, she/he will be guided by a specialist. This responsibility also includes renewal of any medication.  it Is good practice for your GP to make the initial referral to the specialist but it is also a requirement to enable you to receive authorized care through your healthcare insurer.

You may, of course, be self-funding.  If this is the case and you believe you have a heart-related problem, we will accept a direct request from you for a consultation, but only if you can provide a summary of your medical history and a listing of recent medication.   If possible, a GP-referral should be sought since these personal details will then be immediately available. 

Dr Clarke is fully recognized by all of the healthcare providers. Unless your policy has particular constraints you are not restricted to seeing only consultants that have been recommended by your insurer.
